Are you ready to rumble? Because today, I'll share with you 3 lip tints that will either make you cringe or earn you a few stares of wonder from your work mate or friends.
Checking out the packaging, smell and pigmentation. I hope this post will help you choose wisely and find out if lip tints are really for you.
Let's start! Ooooh Lala!
1. Milky Moisture Tint by The Faceshop
Price:
285 php/ US$ 12.90 depending
Size:
4g
Shade:
Apricot Coral
Product Information:
Adheres to lips lightly to create moisturizing luster without stickiness.
Apply a moderate amount from inside to outside lips gently.
Pack nicely in a shiny coated carton with cute prints of farm stuff. This is both cute and attractive in my opinion. This is also the first time I reached for a coral shade so I'm excited.
If you grew up being exposed to farm animals and milk like myself, you will surely like how they package this lip tint.
Plus points for the English translation. It's one of the few Korean lip products that I have that really consider foreign customer satisfaction.
Who wouldn't like that cute stuff. You can easily put it in your make-up bag without worrying about space.
The actual lip tint is small, almost like a concealer stick in size. The cap and body is made of shiny plastic. I like that the print is not in sticker form and so far the prints didn't fade or scratch even after rubbing against my other make-up items.
It has a doe foot applicator for better precision and accurate application, but sometimes I honestly find it hard to reach the corners or apply on my upper lip so I have to twist and turn my hands.
The color is gorgeous, its very natural on deep skin tone. That's a plus for me, but the pigment is so-so in my opinion. The smell is also heavenly. Doesn't taste bitter like the common lip tints in the market.
Before application.
One coating of lip tint. I love it because it looks natural. But beware. It can be very drying and your lips might peel off if not treated properly so be sure to apply generous amount of lip balm then pat it before applying. By the way my lips are on the dry side.
What I don't like about this product:
- It melts when exposed to water or while you're drinking.
- It needs to be re-applied every now and then.
- No transfer when dry but can be very drying.
- Creates a white line and crumbles on the inside of the lips.
Price:
200 php/ $ 8.41
Size:
3.5 g
Shade:
Purple
Product Information:
Make a gradation with proper amount from inner corners to the outward lips. The more layers, the more intense.
The packaging in my opinion is both boring and cheap. The bottom part is also loose meaning someone might have opened my item.
Though I love that it has a seal on top. Something, that the other tints don't have.
Its the usual rough base carton with some designs inspired by New York City. Chic and Splendor wise.
Enough of the packaging. The tint itself is so cute! When I first saw it, I was immediately reminded of roses and I love that plastic tube container, very innovative.
It has a small opening with a needle like plastic to block the tint from coming out. The color is also catchy and gives you an idea how much you still have left.
The designs and lettering are made out of silver linings that might scratch off or fade, but so far so good.
The tube is made out of hard transparent plastic shaped in a tear drop form for better application. You just twist it and the product comes out then apply it to the lips like a usual lipstick.
The color payoff is also pigmented, but I noticed some white casts like clouds. It doesn't smell like anything but the liquid is very thick and sticky.
Before application.
After application. This is just one swipe of tint. I actually find it too thick and sticky like a lip gloss.
Did you noticed that white cloud look it gives off? I don't know what that is. but that shows up even more with camera flash.
When you rub it off. A red tint remains on the lips. I also noticed, my lips tingling when I have it on and it feels really warm/burning like when you eat spicy food or chili.
What I don't like about this product:
- Too thick, it feels gross.
- It fades and transfers to mug or even your clothes if you're not careful.
- Feels heavy and the color pay-off is so-so.
- Feels tingly or burning on the lips for some unknown reasons.
Price:
230 php/ $15.98 depending
Shade:
Triple Red
Product Information:
A triple-colored lip tint that creates
Petal-bitten gradient effect with a single touch.
Apply a moderate amount according to lips line gently.
To be honest, the packaging reminds me so much of toothpaste carton. It is also common and the least attractive out of the three.
Though I love that its all written in English. That helps a lot in terms of usage.
The inside is cute but I feel like its made so cheap and they didn't give much thought to the packaging.
You can find a piece of paper with instructions on the inside. It's both written in Hangul and English, back to back.
My older sister used to buy me very cheap magic lipstick on a thrift store when I was in first year High School that's usually made in China. Packaging and smell wise it compares to that which kinda disappointed me. But, I like that I can see how much product I have because of the transparent container.
The content in itself is good, just ignore the smell and taste. The colors are very subtle.
That's how it looks like. The consistency is not drying nor too glossy. But, it definitely feels oily or comparable to gloss in my opinion. The lip tint is soft like butter so it might move around if you're too harsh when applying.
The red doesn't stand out that easily but it lightened my lips and created a slight gradient of light pink and darker pink then red. Building it up will help show off more colors and this will be good for fairer skin than deep toned in my opinion.
What I don't like about this product:
- Less color payoff
- Cheap packaging
- Transfers to items or even clothes
- Smell awful
- Fades off easily
That's the end of my showdown!
To sum it all up all three has its own pros and cons but for the sake of comparison I will choose one that I will recommend to you. ;)
The winner is?
1. Milky Moisture Tint by The Faceshop because its the one that I usually look for in my make-up bag and doesn't feel sticky like the others. I absolutely recommend this product if you want a more natural and subtle look. Apricot coral also looks good on any skin tone so that's a plus and the smell is great without tasting bitter.
Ciao!
