Skin Care Best of Summer 2015

BEST OF SUMMER 2015

Are you looking for ways to enhance your beauty? Don’t go looking for just make-up, but look for effective skin care to help renew your skin’s collagen and moisture.

Summer went away two month's ago here in the Philippines, but I know some of you are still experiencing intense humid weather wherever you are. Sweat and oiliness are two of the several hated body waste that we sadly expel and breakouts are a common girl thing. I remember despising those pimples that appear every morning and the dust that sticks to my oily face whenever I rode the Jeepney. I can't help, but frown looking at all my face demons.

If you’re just like me who breakout often and has sensitive oily skin, here are skin care tips that work 98% on my skin to clear out face bumps, may it be summer or not.
1. Don’t forget to double cleanse

Are you also guilty of using bath soap as your facial wash?

For many years I’ve been convicted of committing such sins, but ever since I heard of double-cleansing I completely switched and earned days of pure bump free face. Just be sure to 1st cleanse your face if you're wearing make-up with liquid type make-up remover or oil base remover then proceed to cleansing foam like the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Cleansing Foam.

"This is how it looks like the first time I got it"
"And this is how it looks like now after 3 month's of use. It contains 150 g which is a lot at an affordable price"
"This tiny blob of white foamy goodness is enough to take off all the gunk out of my face. Please excuse my poor lighting"

"Tiny particles of supposedly Jeju volcanic ash are also visibly seen but melts as you lather it on the face."

After using a cleansing foam, use a trusty facial scrub at least once every week. I found out that scrubbing the face every other day brightens and refines the top layer of the skin. It also helps the skin absorb the nutrients through ridding dead skin. I now use the Green Tea Scrub by St Ives as my weekly facial scrub.

"When I first got it, it looks really cute and I got the green tea one that claims to help with acne"

"After 3 month's of use. I'm almost running out but I'm not planning to re-purchase"

"It has a good lock that didn't budge unlike the Jeju Volcanic Facial Foam"

"I use this tiny amount for the whole face"

"It's filled with tiny particles that are both effective in scrubbing and gentle enough to be used on acne area"

2. Holy Grail Toner

It’s not enough to just cleanse the face, proper skin preparation is needed so never EVER skip your toner. Actually I’d rather go for toner than astringent because alcohol base products tend to irritate sensitive oily skin. I did use astringent in the past and it dried my skin to the verge of shedding. For a year now I've been using Celeteque Hydration Toner as a preparation step.

"My 3rd bottle and still counting"

"I personally prefer using toner with cotton but I sometimes use it by patting it on my face"

"Using toner actually prepares the skin so that it absorbs nutrients better"

"Look at all the yellow stuff ewwww, that's why I make sure to tone my face."

 3.  Love me skin serum

We tend to strip off some skin nutrients while we cleanse and tone so it’s important to baby our skin every day to let it rest and relax. Serum deeply nourishes every layer so it’s a must have if you want to have a healthy skin.

Use a serum that has potent ingredients like the VC Effector by It's Skin. It is a brightening serum enriched with Vitamin C and Green tea extracts that are clinically proven to enhance collagen synthesis and promotes fair skin and healthy complexion.

"How it looks like the first time I used it"

"This is how it looks like after 3 month's of everyday use"

"It comes in a dropper applicator with a slanted mouth"

"I use about 2-3 drops every night before I go to sleep"

"The consistency is very liquid like but slightly thicker than water."

"It has a light scent but its not overpowering"

"It's very mild and easily absorbed by the skin"

4.   Moisturize me Baby

This is the most important part that nobody should ever skip. Like EVER. I've always trusted Hydration Facial Moisturizer as an aftermath moisturizer. Oily skin or not it is essential to moisturize our faces to avoid sagging and premature aging especially after getting exposed to the sun every day.

"I actually repurchased this product 3 times in a row and still cannot see myself looking for another one."
"It looks like a thick jelly like substance but it gets easily absorbed by the skin"
"That's how it looks after application, it feels like nothing since it disappears after blending but feels moist the first few minutes. Please excuse my bare face ;)"

5.  Eye see you cream

We tend to forget our eyes ALL THE TIME when it comes to skin care, not knowing that the area around it is the most sensitive and prone to premature aging, sagging and even discoloration. After learning all about Korean skin care, I slowly turned to eye cream in hopes that it will lighten my bluish under eye circles.

So I started using Farm Stay Visible Eye Cream as a final step to my daily skin care regimen.

"It looks so classy and the container is hard plastic that are both sturdy and sleek"

"It has a thin plastic separator cap inside that protects the product from air born bacteria"

"It's made of very thick cream with a distinct and slightly stronger scent of musk and wood, it smells really good for me"

"How it looks like after contact"

"Slightly moist and not easily absorbed, a bit slimy but not totally uncomfortable. I thought it help my under eye circle to lighten a lot since the first time i used it. It used to be bluish before"

      6. Ash me Mask?
Last, but not the least my weekly facial mask. I've started using the Secret Key Blackout Minimizing Pack. At first, I thought it's a weird product that might not work for me because I rarely read any review about this product on the net, but after using it for 3 months I was impressed with how well it refined my once humongous pore.

"I love the packaging. It's shiny, big and filled with black gooey goodness"

"It has a separator that keeps the moist lock up and avoids bacteria from coming inside. Sadly, this doesn't have a scoop like other masks but it's okay"

It contains a lot of product and filled to the brim as you can see from this picture"

"How it looks after 3 months of use actually, it still has a lot considering I use it twice a week during summer"

"It smells pretty strong, almost like a paste but the smell subsides once it fully dries"

"Its easy to apply but you might not like the smell the first time"

"How it looks once fully dried. It's actually really tight like cement and I feel like it sucks the dirt out of my face. I have also noticed that my lips start to swell and redden once it dries. You can't also speak properly when that happens and always make sure to rinse it with warm water."

This is now one of my fave mask because of the obvious difference with the size of my pores. It didn't get rid of it completely because that's just impossible, but refined it that its not as noticeable as before. I totally recommend that you use this mask if you have big pore like mine. :)

To wrap it all up. I think that effective skin care is always based on the type of skin that you have, so don't be afraid to find your holy grail items and research more about your skin type and sensitivities.

What works for me might not work for you so please bear that in mind before trying out these products. You are beautiful no matter what skin you have. Also, eat healthy and drink plenty of water, I'm sure living a healthy lifestyle will clear out your skin. It's better to start from the inside than that on the outside.

Excuse me face, I had breakouts after trying another facial wash by Thefaceshop, but I'll reserve that for another-post.
